Siren

The Easy Affiliate Alternative Built for Programs, Not Overrides

If you've outgrown a single commission rate and need incentive programs beyond basic referral tracking, Siren was built for that. Multiple programs, composable commission logic, and event tracking that goes past sales. No add-on stacking required.

Two Different Approaches

Easy Affiliate gives you one affiliate program with a global rate and optional add-ons for more-advanced rules. Siren's a toolkit for designing the incentive structure your business actually needs.

Easy Affiliate
Siren

One global commission rate. Individual affiliate overrides live on each affiliate's profile.

Named programs with their own rates, rules, and enrolled partners. All logic in one place.

Product-level rules and threshold bonuses require the Commission Rules add-on.

Line item filters, per-product rates, and performance bonuses are all built into the program system.

Commissions calculate on the post-discount subtotal. Shipping and taxes are always excluded, no other options.

You pick which components matter per program. Line items, discounts, fees, shipping, taxes, each one's independently configurable.

Multi-level commissions let affiliates earn from their downline's activity.

No MLM tiers. Separate programs reward each contributor for the specific value they bring.

Programs Instead of Overrides

Easy Affiliate stores rates in two places: a global default and per-affiliate overrides on individual profiles. Multiply that by a hundred affiliates and the picture gets fuzzy fast. Siren puts rates on programs instead. A VIP affiliate at 30% gets enrolled in a 30% program. A standard affiliate earns through a 20% program. Every commission structure is visible from one screen, not scattered across profiles.

Easy Affiliate's Commission Rules add-on matches by product ID or name, but it can't filter by category, SKU, or product type. Siren's line item filters combine all of those with AND logic. "30% on premium-category products sold through a specific coupon" is one readable configuration. Add a new product to that category and it's automatically included, no rule updates required.

Where each tool wins

Fast guidance if you're making a call this week.

Choose Siren when…

  • You want named programs instead of scattered per-affiliate rate overrides.
  • One sale should pay multiple people (affiliate plus creator royalty, or lead-gen plus sale commission).
  • You need LMS events, Gravity Forms, or NorthCommerce to trigger commissions.
  • You want scheduled performance bonuses with real strategies, like top-performer pools, performance-weighted splits, and milestone rewards.
  • You want composable category/SKU/product-type filters on commission rules, not just product ID matches.

Choose Easy Affiliate when…

  • MemberPress drives your commerce. Easy Affiliate and MemberPress are from the same team, so that integration is tight.
  • Multi-level / MLM affiliate structures are core to your model.
  • You need a built-in creatives library and don't want to delegate to WordPress pages.
  • You're running MemberMouse or WishList Member and rely on Easy Affiliate's native support for those platforms.
  • You only need a single flat-rate program and don't anticipate adding more.

Events Easy Affiliate Can't Track

Easy Affiliate triggers commissions on sales through WooCommerce, EDD, MemberPress, and other platforms like MemberMouse and WishList Member. Siren covers those too, plus these five event types.

Subscription Renewals

Initial purchases and recurring payments carry different commission rules, managed as separate programs.

Course Completions

An instructor gets paid when a student finishes their LifterLMS course, not just when they enroll.

Lesson Completions

Content creators earn per lesson, so you can reward granular contributions instead of only full-course sales.

Form Submissions

A Gravity Forms submission triggers a lead commission automatically. Easy Affiliate's Pro tier tracks payment forms through Formidable Forms and WPForms, but not non-payment submissions.

Scheduled Performance Bonuses

Distributors track performance over time and pay out on a schedule. Want to reward your top 3 affiliates each quarter with a $500 bonus pool split by performance? That's one distributor configuration.

What About Multi-Level Commissions?

Easy Affiliate supports multi-level commissions through Commission Levels, where affiliates earn from their recruits' sales. Siren doesn't do MLM. That's intentional. If multi-level commissions are how your business operates, Easy Affiliate handles that and Siren doesn't.

But if you've been using commission levels as a workaround for rewarding different contributor types, Siren's multi-program approach is cleaner. An affiliate earns from sales they drive. A recruiter earns from partners they bring on. A content creator earns royalties from courses they build. Each contribution type gets its own program with its own rules, and you don't have to model a hierarchy to make it work.

Common Questions

Do I need to be switching from Easy Affiliate to use Siren?

Nope. This page compares features, but Siren stands on its own. Start with Siren Lite for free, set up your first program, and see how it works. You don't need any prior affiliate plugin experience.

Easy Affiliate works with MemberPress. Does Siren?

Not yet. Easy Affiliate and MemberPress are from the same team, so that integration's tight. If MemberPress is your primary commerce platform, Easy Affiliate's the better fit right now. But if you're running WooCommerce, EDD, or LifterLMS alongside MemberPress for your affiliate-eligible products, Siren can handle those while you wait for MemberPress support.

I rely on multi-level commissions. Can Siren replace that?

It depends on why you're using them. If your business genuinely runs on affiliates earning from their downline's activity, Easy Affiliate handles that and Siren doesn't. That's by design. But if you've been using commission levels as a workaround for rewarding different contributor types, Siren's multi-program approach is a cleaner path. Each contributor type gets their own program with their own rate and rules, no hierarchy needed.

Can I migrate my existing affiliates and transaction history?

You can. Affiliate accounts become collaborator records linked to the same WordPress users. Referral codes carry over as aliases, so existing links keep working. Transaction history (Easy Affiliate's term for commission records) migrates as conversion and commission records. There's no automated importer, but for most sites with under 50 affiliates, expect 1-2 hours to get everything set up. The heaviest lift is designing your program structure, and Beacon can help with that.

I only need a basic affiliate program. Isn't Easy Affiliate simpler?

For a single flat-rate program, both tools work fine. Siren Lite is free and covers the basics: one program, referral links, coupon tracking, automatic order attribution. The difference shows up when you need per-product rates, performance bonuses, or commissions on events beyond sales. Easy Affiliate gets there with paid add-ons. Siren gets there with programs you can read and manage from one screen.

What about Easy Affiliate's Commission Rules add-on? Doesn't that give me product-level control?

It does, with some constraints. Commission Rules matches on product ID, product name, source integration, and coupon code. It can't filter by product category, SKU, or product type. Siren's line item filters cover all of those, combine with AND logic, and include collaborator ownership as a filter dimension. If your rule builder is full of individual product IDs, category-based filters can simplify that setup a lot.

Does Siren have a creatives library?

It doesn't. Siren delegates promotional materials to WordPress itself. You can build creative asset pages using WordPress blocks and link to them from your collaborator portal. The migration guide explains the approach.

What if I try Siren and it's not the right fit?

Siren Lite is free, so you can test the core experience without committing. If you try Essentials and decide to go back, your data is on your own server. Nothing is locked into a platform you can't leave.
